PHILANTHROPY AND DEVELOPMENT IN THE RUBY VALLEY
Have you noticed the changes in our area? We now have a new hospital in Sheridan and new Senior Centers in both Twin Bridges and Sheridan. The Twin Bridges Museum now has a new roof, and Ruby Valley Re-Runs has a new location. All of these projects do not happen by themselves. Much of the thanks goes to Nondi Harrington, a local Independent Consultant that helps breathe life into these projects along with the help of others such as the Ruby Valley Hospital Foundation.
Once she is tasked to help find the funding, Nondi tirelessly goes to work writing grants, proposals, letters, brochures and flyers until each project is finished. She makes sure to provide updated information to keep everyone involved and as energized as she is.
Nondi Harrington moved to Sheridan in 1996 and has had a hand in much needed changes ever since from Virginia City to Townsend. She resides in, and operates the Ruby Valley Inn just outside of Sheridan, as well as her consulting company. She has spent 38 years of her life working in the non-profit business including working for the Windstar Foundation alongside the founder, John Denver. Not only has she helped local Ruby Valley business, but in Whitehall she helped with funding for the Liberty Place, a home for residents with brain injuries. She has also helped with funding for the new Transportation Barn and the new super buses called Lois and Clark for rides around Whitehall and out of town. Right now she is continuing to help raise money for the Sheridan Senior Center, the Sheridan Volunteer Fire Department and so much more.
To see the results of her latest efforts, come to the Open House for the new Sheridan Senior Center October 15th from 4-7 PM. Check out the front page of this issue for more information.
Thank you Nondi Harrington and to her partners like the Ruby Valley Healthcare Foundation for all you do and have done, and thank you to all of the supporters that have helped make these dreams a reality. All of these projects have added great value to our area and are helping to meet the needs of many in our communities.
